Day Tour Kathmandu Durbar with Swayambhunath
After breakfast visit at fascinating ancient old kathmandu Palace, seat of the King Malla and Shah Dynasty. It is also known as Hanuman -Dhoka. In the entire Durbar -Square, there is full of historical monuments, stone statue of Hanuman and next to Golden Gate, the powerful protector of the whole Durbar- Square. Visit Taleju Bhawani Temple built in 1549 A D. By King Mahendra Malla, the tallest Temple which is about 36.6 meter high. Lord Krishna Temple was built in 1649 A.D. by King Pratap Malla on memory of his favorite two dead Queens, Jagannath Temple, a famous for erotic arts. Visit huge stone statue of Kalbhairav, a ferocious form of Lord Shiva, Living Goddess House and Kasthamandap built on 12th century by single tree of wood, hence Kathmandu obtains its name from this historic building.
Then drive to Swayambhunath, a famous Stupa for Buddhist devotees which is over 2500 years old. The stupa is located at the west of Kathmandu city on a beautiful hillock about 77 meter above the level of Kathmandu valley. If sky is clear, from the summit provides magnificent views of Himalayan ranges and kathmandu valley. The tradition in Stupa follows Vajrayana form of Buddhism which is a tantric variation of Mahayana Buddhism ( Great Vehicle). Painted on the four sides of the spire’s base are the all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha.
