Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Overview

Annapurna region is situated in north-central Nepal, Annapurna is one of the most renowned trekking destinations in this fascinating mountainous country. This iconic Himalayan peak marks the high point of the trip – in altitude terms, at least – with an early morning trek to its base camp at 4132m. Other treks, however, will take you through delightful traditional villages, magical rhododendron forest, past graceful rice terraces towards awe-inspiring glaciers. In  Annapurna Region Trekking you can explore wonderful flora, fauna too and many more things. When you can tear your gaze away from jaw-dropping Himalayan vistas, spot some of over 450 species of exotic bird, including white-capped river chat, brown dipper, and white-breasted kingfisher.  Annapurna Region Trekking also includes forays into the orchid-filled jungle of the Royal Chitwan National Park. Wildlife in one of Asia's finest nature hotspots includes rhinoceros, four species of deer, two types of crocodiles and sloth bear, plus two big cats – leopards and Royal Bengal Tiger. The iconic capital Kathmandu and the beautiful city of Pokhara provide perfect bookends to the trekking  – the latter home to the World Peace Stupa and wonderful Fewa Lake.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Welcome to Kathmandu.

If Sky is clear, prior to landing to Tribhuvan Int’l airport you will be greeted with heavenly snow-capped mountains. After customs clearance, you will be welcomed by our tour coordinator and transferred to the hotel.

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara.

After breakfast we’ll take a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, it takes about 6 hours drive or 30 minutes flight to Pokhara. Check into hotel. Enjoy in Pokhara, the city of nature and beauty.

Day 03: Trek to Pothana Village (5hrs, Alt:1990m).

After breakfast 45 minutes drive to Phedi through a unique rice terrace field along the edge of Seti River. Commence trek to Pothana 1990m (04-05 hours walking) through a wonderful rhododendron forest terrains and experienced with exotic views of the valley, 45 minutes trail steeply ascends to Mina Lodge, then gradual climbs to Dhampus, Stunning views of snow-capped mountains from the top of the Dhampus and continue to climb to Pothana.

Day 04: Trek to New Bridge Village (6hrs).

Commence trek to New Bridge after breakfast ( 05-06 hours walking) through a wonderful Rhododendron, oaks, cotton, orchid forest, it climbs on the stone path, from Deurali where you will be rewarded views of Annapurna South, Himchuli, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre Himal, the trail steeply descends to Bechok, then gently descends and cross the bridge of Modhi-Khola.

Day 05: Trek to Chomrong (5hrs, Alt: 3210m).

Trek to Chomrong 3210 meter (04-05 hours walking), through a unique rice terrace field and wonderful rhododendron forest, the trail ascends to Chomrong. It provides excellent views of Annapurna South, Himchuli and Machhapuchhre Mountain.

Day 06: Trek to Himalaya Village (6hrs).

Trek to Hotel Himalaya (05-06 hours walking), through a wonderful rhododendron forest, bamboo and a tiny village, trail steep ascends and crosses tributary streams and pass the spot where water is overflowing on the path. It needs careful walking but it ascends continuously.

Day 07: Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (4hrs, Alt: 4000).

After breakfast trek to Machhapuchhre Base camp (03-04 hours walking) through rocky meadows and reaches at Hinko, the cave used to protect from rain and avalanches. This is a rocky area about 200 meters wide under the rock face, from where water is flowing. Continue to climb for Machapuchare B.C. which is situated at 4000 meter.

Day 08: Annapurna Base Camp (Alt: 4095m).

Early morning visit Annapurna Base Camp 4095 which is our final destination, the trail follows a stream but some time it is hard to find out route due to snow. Amazing views of Annapurna-I (8091 M), Varaha Shikhar (7647 m), Annapurna South (7219 M.), Himchuli ( 6441 meter), Khangsar Kang (7485 Meter), the peak of snow clad. Tarke Kang (7193 m), Sign Chuli (6501 m), the peak is called Fluted Peak. Incredible views of the triangular rock spire of Machapuchare Mountain and snow clad peak of Annapurna -III (7555 m). Trek descends to Dovan. Stay at the lodge in Dovan village.

Day 09: Trek to Chomrong (5hrs).

It provides excellent views of the typical valley, snowy peaks and beautiful views of a tiny village.

Day 10: Trek to Tadapani (Alt: 2721).

After breakfast commences trek to Tadapani, through a unique terrace terrain, the trail stream , lunch on the way of hilly terrain, cross the river and climb to Tadapani 2721 meter which is situated in the middle of the Rhododendron, Oaks, Magnolia, Orchid forests. It presents amazing views of Annapurna South, Himchuli, and Machapuchare Mountains.

Day 11: Trek to Ghorepani (7hrs, Alt: 2850 m).

Trek to Ghorepani 2850 meter (06-07 hours walking), through a wonderful Rhododendron, oaks, magnolia and orchid forest, the trail descends about 30 minutes and ascends steeply about an hour, then climb to Deurali, on this spot, you will have lunch with breathtaking views of snowy mountains. On the way of Ghorepani an excellent chance to explore flora and fauna including snowy peaks. From Deurali pass, the trail descends to Ghorepani.

Day 12: Trek to Hile (6hrs, Alt: 1495 m).

Early morning about 45 minutes hike to Poon Hill 3210 meter for excellent views of Annapurna massif including Dhaulagiri 8167 meter, Mt Lamjung , Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri Himal, Thapa Peak, Tent Peak and beautiful sun-rise views. Trek descends to Ghorepani. After breakfast through rhododendron forest commence trek to Hile, quant village which is situated at 1495 meter, trail stream descends to Banthanti, you will have lunch at Uleri. After lunch, trek descends steeply to Tikhedhunga, then gradual walk to Hile. It takes about 05-06 hours. Stay at the edge in Hile village.

Day 13: Trek to Nayapul (4hrs).

After breakfast trek to Nayapul via Birethanti, it takes about 03-04 hours walking. This day gradual walk and on the way of Naya Pull, there is a great chance to explore tiny villages and beautiful valley. Cross the Suspension bridge and climb to Naya Pull. Drive to Pokhara. Check into hotel. Enjoy at evening with Pokhara.

Day 14: Drive Back to Kathmandu.

Early morning drive back to Kathmandu and check into the hotel.

Day 15: Farewell.

You will be leaving with the memory of adventurous journey of the life time. We’ll make sure to turn the days to your most memorable moments of life.
