Gokyo & Everest Base Camp Trek

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu.

Prior to landing in Tribhuvan International airport at Kathmandu, you could have some excellent views of snow-capped mountains, after custom clearance, our tour coordinator will receive and transfer you to hotel.

Day 02: Prepare for Trekking at Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla Then Trek to Phakding (03-04 hrs, Alt: 2640 m).

After breakfast drive to domestic airport to take flight to Lukla (starting point for trekking), it takes about 40 minutes flight to reach Lukla. After landing at Lukla (2850 meter), commence trek through an exotic village to join the main trail from Chauri Kharka in about one hour. The trail follows the east bank of the river Dudha Koshi (River of Milk), on the way you can enjoy with beautiful terrace field, typical slate roofed houses, souvenirs shops and views of Kusum Kangaru West Peak (5579 meter), continue to trek and reach at Phakding. Stay at lodge; Phakding 2640 meter. The journey will take about 03-04 hours.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (07 hrs, Alt: 3440 m).

Trek to Namche Bazaar 3440 meter, it takes about 06-07 hours walking from Phakding. The trail continue climb up along with the west bank of river until the village of Benkar is reached. On the way you can enjoy with beautiful valley and Thamserku Mountain (6623 meter), cross the bridge and now trail enters Sagarmatha National park at the village of Jorsale. From Jorsale the trail continue follows the east bank of Dudha Koshi to the foot hill below Namche begins. Cross the suspension bridge, the first section is steep ascent and from half way climbed up, the views of Mount Everest attracted and continue walk through conifer forest with sightseeing wonderful views of Rolwaling Himal and reach at Namche Bazaar, the village is the administrative centre of the northern region of Solukhumbu district. Stay at lodge; Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Acclimatize at Namche Bazaar.

Day 06: Trek to Dole (Alt: 5761 m).

After breakfast; commence trek through a beautiful khumbu valley to Dole (4090 m). The trail climbs up to Syangboche height; then down to stone walls to khumjung village; then climb up the stone steps through rocky meadows via left side of Khumbila Mountain (5761 m). From the Phortse Thenga; trek begins through rhododendron forests; birch trees and it makes colorful in April. On the way; it is giving the outstanding views of Choyo Mountain 8201m; Thamserku and Kantega Mountain (6799 m). Stay at lodge in Dole.

Day 07: Ascend to Machermo (Alt: 4410 m).

Trek ascends to Machermo 4410m; through a beautiful valley and junipers trees-land. The trail beyond Machermo offers amazing views of Mt. Cho-Yo; beautiful scenery of Dud-Koshi (River of Milk) and reaches at farmland of Luza village. As you cross the bridge; the valley becomes wider and from up portion of valley; the spire of Kyajo RI Peak 6186m is soaring high and very impressive. Stay at lodge in Dole.

Day 08: Reach Gokyo (Alt: 4750 m).

The trail climbs up along with valley to Gokyo 4750m. On the way trekking; you can enjoy with amazing views of Himalayan ranges including Cho-Yo Mountain; Kantega’ Ngojumba Kang I (7743m); II (7646m); Gyachung Kang (7952 m) ; Cholatse Peak( 6440m) and beautiful calm views of icy Lake. Stay at lodge in Gokyo.

Day 09: Day Excursion to Gokyo RI Peak (Alt: 5360 m).

Early morning trek through wide stream with stepping from one stone to another. If you turn around; it gives beautiful views of Dudha Pokhari literally Lake of milk reflecting the blue sky; clouds and rock spires like a large mirror and then climb to Gokyo- RI Peak. From the summit provides the outstanding views of silvery mountain ranges. Then trek back to Gokyo and stay at lodge.

Day 10: Trek Through Cho-Yo Glaciers.

After breakfast; trek commences through a beautiful rocky meadows and crosses the Cho-Yo glaciers; then reaches at Thangna village and stay at lodge.

Day 11: Trek to Dazongla Village (Alt: 5565 m).

Early morning trek climbs up through rocky meadows and crosses the Cho-La Pass (5565 m) and reaches in Dazongla village. If there is snow on the ground; the trail might be slippery. It is the strenuous part of the trip. Stay at lodge in Dzongla.

Day 12: Trek to Lobuche (Alt: 4930 m).

After breakfast; trek climbs up to Lobuche 4930m. It provides the excellent views of Himalayan ranges; typical valley and stay at lodge in Lobuche.

Day 13: Trek to Everest Base Camp (Alt: 5560 m).

Breakfast at lodge, then trek to Gorakshep 5160 meter through rocky meadows, glacier and reaches at Gorakshep village, after lunch continue trek to Everest base camp 5560 meter and return back to Gorakshep for overnight.

Day 14: Desend to Pheriche (Alt: 4240 m).

Early morning hike to Kalapathar 5545 meter (Dark brown hill), from the summit provides excellent views of Mt. Everest and silvery Himalayan ranges, then return to Gorakshep. After breakfast trek descends to Pheriche (4240 m). Stay at Lodge; Pheriche.

Day 15: Trek to Tengboche (Alt: 3967 m).

After breakfast trek descends along stone steps through beautiful conifer; rhododendron forest and meandering river of Imja Khola and crossed at narrow cliffs by suspension bridge; the trail follows gentle ascends on the western river to the Pangboche village and reaches in Tengboche village. You can enjoy with amazing views of Himalayan ranges including Mt. Everest; Lhotse; Ama-Dablam (6812 m); Kantega (6799m) and exotic villages and beautiful landscape. Stay at lodge in Tengboche (3967 m).

Day 16: Trek to Phakding (Alt: 2640 m).

After breakfast trek descends the stone steps through beautiful rhododendron forest; typical valley to Dudha Koshi and then trail climb up the Namche Bazaar 3440m. From Namche Bazaar trail follows descends the stone steps and crosses suspension bridge and reaches at Manjo/ Phakding village 2640m. Stay at lodge.

Day 17: Trek to Lukla (Alt: 2850 m).

Trek climbs to Lukla 2850 meter through exotic and traditional Sherpa villages. Stay at Lodge in Lukla.

Day 18: Fly Back to Kathmandu.

Early morning flight to Kathmandu. Take rest at hotel.

Day 19: Leisure at Kathmandu.

Day 20: Farewell.
