Kanchanjunga Trek

Overview

Kanchenjunga is the World’s third highest Peak, situated in the far eastern side of  Nepal which is aligned north to south along Nepal to Sikkim border. The name of the mountain comes from Old Tibetan and translates to ‘ Five treasures of snow”. Local inhabitants have worshiped the holy mountains for as long as their stories go back in time. ( the  fiver treasures are Diamond, Gold, Silver, Grain, and holy s You can trek either  north or south to Kanchenjunga  Base Camp which is  one of the most challenging and adventure trekking destinations, the region is beyond the crowds;  while in trekking, you will see few other trekkers, walk through  exotic remote valley, alpine meadows, pink barked rhododendron forest to Kanchenjunga Base Camp at Pang Pema (5143 m) and return to Suketar (Taplejung) for fly to Kathmandu. You will be taking back the memory of the adventure trip along with the hospitality of local people, their lifestyles and incredible views of Himalayan ranges.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuvan International  Airport.

Prior to landing at Tribhuvan International Airport; you could have some excellent views of snowy mountains and after customs clearance; meet with our tour coordinator and transfer to hotel.

Day 02:  Kathmandu.

Day 03: Kathmandu To Bhadrapur.

Fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur and scenic drive to Taplejung ( 2420 m)  where Kanchenjunga adventure trip begins. Trek to Phu Rumba/ Mitlyng ( 921m);  with the beautiful tiny village and agriculture terrace.  Stay tea house.

Day 04: Trek from Mitlyng to Chirwa.

Commence trek from Mitlyng to Chirwa through exotic tiny villages; agriculture terrace and lush hills; ( the trail some ascends and descends).  You will be greeted with full of smiling face and children ran out from the house; ‘Say Namaste’.  Stay at the house in Chirwa ( 1270m); the riverside village.

Day 05: Trek from Chirwa to Saka-them (1660m).

Commence trek from Chirwa to Saka-them (1660m);  through beautiful lush hills; cross the suspension bridge and walk with lovely stone path and reach Seke-the village. Stay at tea the use.

Day 06: Trek From Saka-them To Amji-lose.

 Trek climbs up from Saka-them to Amji-loss (2510m) with beautiful narrow valley and deep gorge and reaches grazing land of  Amji-Losa. Stay at the teahouse.

Day 07: Trek From  Amji-loss  To Pathivara Himal.

Trek climbs up with the beautiful valley,  pine, and rhododendron forest, the trail descends to the river and reach  Gable (310m). You can enjoy the beautiful scenery and amazing views of Kumbakarna and Pathivara Himal. Stay teahouse.

Day 08: Gya-Bla To Ghunsa.

Gentle trek climbs up from Gya-blah to Ghunsa (3475m), through beautiful tiny villages and picturesque valley. You can experience Tibetan culture and lifestyles of the inhabitant. Stay at Teahouse. 

Day 09: Rest at day at Ghunsa.

Day 10:  Trek from Ghunsa to Kambochen (4050m).

Commence trek from Ghunsa to Kambochen ( 4050m), through beautiful last tiny villages that provide stunning views of Himalayan ranges and beautiful scenery.  Stay at Teahouse.

Day 11: Trek from Kambochen to Lhonak ( 4780 m).

Commence trek from Kambochen to Lhonak ( 4780 m), through the tiny forest and exotic valley. Spectacular views of Himalayan ranges. Stay at Teahouse.

Day 12: Trek From Lhonak To Pang-Pema.

Commence trek from Lhonak to Pang-Pema ( 5134 m). The trek offers incredible views of Himalayan ranges and open picturesque rocky valley. Stay at Teahouse.

Day 13:   Trek from Pang-Pema to Kambochen.

(Return of trekking). Trek from Pang-Pema to Kambochen.  Stay at Teahouse.

Day 14:  Day At Gunsha ( 3475 m).

Day 15: Trek To Sele-le (4200m).

Early morning commence trek to Sele-Le and cross the pass ( 4200m), from the height provides magnificent views of  Himalayan ranges and beautiful scenery.  Stay at Teahouse in Selele Phedi.

Day 16:  Trek to Tseram ( 3870 m ).

Trek to Tseram ( 3870 m ),  cross the  Mirgin-La Pass  (4645m)  and Sinon pass that provides amazing views of snowy mountains and reaches Tseram village. Stay at Teahouse.

Day 17: Trek to  Namche ( 4610m).

Trek to Tseram ( 3870 m ), through beautiful highland terrain that offers unique scenery and beautiful valley. Stay at Teahouse.

Day 18: Views of Himalayan Ranges.

Early morning visit Oktang Glacier ( 4730 m) that provides stunning views of Himalayan ranges including Kumbhakarna Himal, Kanchenjunga, and Yalung Khang and trek back to Tseram ( 3870m).

Day 19: Trek to Toronto (2995 m).

Trek to Toronto (2995 m), through beautiful tiny villages and agriculture terrace with experience of lifestyles of the inhabitant.  Stay at Teahouse.

Day 20:  Trek to Yamp-Rudin ( 2080 m).

Trek to Yamp-Rudin ( 2080 m), through the beautiful village, farmland and lush hills. Stay at Teahouse.

Day 21: Trek to Phumphe Danda (1794 m).

Trek to Phumphe Danda (1794 m), through beautiful tiny villages and farmland. Stay at Teahouse.

Day 22: Trek to Kande- Bhanjyang ( 2195 m).

 Trek to Kande- Bhanjyang ( 2195 m), gentle climbs up through beautiful farmland terrain with experience of an exotic beautiful valley. Stay at Teahouse.

Day 23: Kande- Bhanjyang to Lali Kharka (2765m).

A gentle climb up and descends to Lali Kharka ( 2765m), through beautiful villages and farmland. Stay at Teahouse.

Day 24: Trek to Suketar (2420m).

Trek to Suketar (2420m), through a beautiful village and farmland. Stay at Teahouse.

Day 25: Fly From skater To Kathmandu.

Early morning fly from Suketar to Kathmandu via Biratnagar and arrive at Kathmandu domestic airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 26:  Leisure day at Kathmandu.

Day 27:  Departure to Tribhuvan International airport.

What's included?

  • Twin-sharing accommodation on B/ B basis at Kathmandu as per itinerary.
  •  All land transfer as per itinerary. During the trek, all meals (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) and accommodation at trekking lodges.

  •  flight surcharges. Any loss or expenses arising due to unforeseen circumstances such as ROAD BLOCKAGE due to landslides/ snowfalls or political problems, FLIGHT DELAYS   OR CANCELLATION due to weather or technical problems,  ACCIDENTS, etc.
